Intermittent Fasting and Risk for Heart Disease

A study of more than 20,000 U.S. adults, average age 48 years, found that those who limited their eating to a period of less than eight hours a day had almost double the risk of dying from heart disease, compared to those who ate meals over 12-16 hours per day (Abstract P192 presented March 18, 2024 at the American Heart Association Epidemiology and Prevention | Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health Scientific Sessions). An increased death rate was also seen in people who used this pattern of intermittent fasting and had cancer. Read more.
