Anti-fog for Glasses and Goggles

Ever head out on a cold day to ride only to get to a stop light, and your glasses fog up? Then you have to ride half-blind until they clear. Or, instead, slide them down your nose so air circulates while you ride? Well, Muc-Off has added an anti-fog treatment to its arsenal of products. Clean your glasses, sunglasses, or goggles, spray the lenses with Muc-Off’s Premium Anti-Fog Treatment (shake the bottle well to activate the ingredients), and wipe off any excess. The company recommends using a dry tissue, not a microfiber cloth, for this step.

Safe for plastics and glass, the anti-fog formula provides a hydrophobic barrier that repels water and a hydrophilic treatment that absorbs moisture. Using it on the outside of the lens will cause rain and mist to bead off, improving visibility.

To put the product to the test, I applied the Anti-Fog Treatment to one lens and left the other untreated. It worked well to repel road spray and reduce fogging. According to the company, the application lasts five days. I found it depended on riding conditions, as sometimes it would last a few days longer.

You can also use Muc-Off’s Premium Anti-Fog Treatment on MTB, ski, or swim goggles. Note that you should only treat the outside of the swim goggles to avoid potential eye contact.
