Fizik Introduces Four New 5-Star Virginia Tech-Rated Cycling Helmets

You know the fizik brand for its quality cycling saddles and shoes, and today they launched a line of helmets across road, gravel, triathlon, and trail.

“Entering the helmet category is the natural expansion of the fizik brand. We are known for combining function and aesthetics, so we have been working hard to bring this to life in our new helmet range,” stated fizik Senior Product Manager Alex Locatelli. “We have created a product that lends itself to fizik’s innovative style while also delivering on fit, function, and safety, earning a five-star rating on the Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings.”

The new helmet line includes four models:

  • Kudo – Designed for road, gravel, and XC riders, the highly ventilated and lightweight helmet is ideal for cyclists tackling long mountain climbs, gravel adventures, and everyday riding.
    • $289.99
    • 270g
    • Colors: White, black, bronze
  • Kudo Aero – Engineered for speed, the aero design features strategically placed air inlets to balance ventilation with aerodynamic efficiency. Being an aero helmet, this model is the perfect choice for riders seeking additional watt savings in road races and beyond.
    • $269.99
    • 270g
    • Colors: White, black, silver
  • Kunée – For TT and triathlons, this model was developed through extensive wind tunnel and CFD testing. Its teardrop profile, smooth shell, and strategically corrugated side panels minimize drag while optimizing airflow. A honeycomb-grid ventilation system above the visor ensures cooling without compromising aerodynamics, while additional vents and lightweight padding enhance airflow and thermoregulation.
    • $379.99
    • Ventilated visors magnetically attach (mirrored and clear)
    • Hard storage case
    • 350g (without visor)
    • Color: White
  • Kassis – Tailored for off-road trail riders, it combines exceptional ventilation with enhanced protection in the occipital and lateral areas. The lightweight yet durable construction provides extended coverage for demanding off-road conditions.
    • $199.99
    • Four-position removable visor
    • 330 g
    • Colors: White, dark navy, or mud-sand

In addition to meeting international safety standards, fizik has engineered a proprietary micro-adjustable internal retention system. This visor design allows riders to fine-tune the fit, adjust tilt, and accommodate a variety of head shapes.

rechargeable light on helmet
Three of the helmet models feature an integrated rechargeable rear light with two modes ― solid and flashing.

All the helmet models, with the exception of the TT, feature an integrated USB-C rechargeable rear light. Using a snap-on design, the light increases visibility with two modes ― solid and flashing. If your typical ride is over three hours, the battery life is short (90 min in solid mode, 180 min in flashing). Additionally, the three models utilize the MIPS Air Node System, effectively dissipating the rotational forces experienced during impact reducing the likelihood of injury.

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in the company’s press conference announcing the new helmets. They touted how large openings in the rear of the helmet provide a dynamic flow of air for temperature management. I’m heading to Sea Otter Classic later this week and will stop by the fizik booth to see the new helmets for myself. In addition, the company is sending me a helmet to test, and I’ll share my review in the near future.
