Refuel, Rehydrate, and Restore with New Oat Milk Latte Flavor
I might as well hand in my cyclist card now because I’m about to admit something that could get me kicked out of the club. “Hi, my name is Sheri, and I don’t drink coffee.” There, I said it. I know, I know, it’s practically a sin among cyclists.
When Skratch Labs recently launched their newest carb-rich Recovery Sport Drink Mix flavor, Oat Milk Latte, I had a few email exchanges with their rep. Given my lack of participation in a cup of Joe in the morning, I was hesitant. She assured me this new vegan flavor wasn’t going to have a strong coffee flavor. I agreed to give it a shot (pun intended).
The directions call for mixing two scoops of powder with 12 fluid ounces of water, and the oat milk provides a creamy texture. The coffee flavor is light and not overpowering. To give an endurance athlete its full benefits ―refuel, rehydrate, and restore ― consume the mix within 30-60 minutes after working out. According to the company, the “Recovery Sport Drink Mix is a scientifically formulated drink mix for endurance athletes that promotes recovery through a four-to-one carbohydrate-to-protein ratio, electrolytes, a complete amino acid profile, and probiotics that ease pressure on an already-stressed gut.”

The Oat Milk Latte includes 56 mg of caffeine derived from real coffee. Other nutritional information includes 10g of protein, 40g of carbs, 5g of fat, 28g of sugars, and 340mg of sodium. The vegan mix is gluten-free, dairy-free, kosher, and genetically modified organisms-free (GMO-free), with each serving of the mix being 240 calories and having one billion probiotic cultures to support digestive health.
Bottom Line
If you’re a coffee lover looking for a tasty post-ride recovery drink that doesn’t need to be refrigerated, check out Skratch Labs’ new oat milk latte flavor. Drop a comment below if you’ve already tried it, and let me know your thoughts.
