The Midlife Cyclist: The road map for the +40 rider who wants to train hard, ride fast and stay healthy
by Phil Cavell
Price: $20 (on sale at Amazon for $11.28)
Availability: Online and retail
According to the author, a bike-fit pioneer, “The Midlife Cyclist is the ultimate manifesto for those of us who choose cycling performance as our means to rage into the twilight rather than fade into infirmity.
Time’s arrow traditionally plots an incremental path into declining strength and speed for all of us. But we are different to every other generation of cyclists in human history. An ever-growing number of us are determined to scale the highest peaks of elite physical fitness into middle age and beyond. Can the emerging medical and scientific research help us achieve the holy triumvirate of speed and health with age?”
Riding with the Rocketmen: One man’s journey on the shoulders of cycling giants
by James Witts

Released on August 8th, in this entertaining and warm-hearted tale, Witts gains access to the world’s greatest teams and riders to reveal the tricks of the trade. Follow along as he trains, rides, and eats using the regimes of the planet’s toughest athletes to conquer a stage of the Tour de France.
By Jenny Graham

In 2018, amateur cyclist Jenny Graham left family and friends behind in Scotland to become the fastest woman to cycle around the world. Alone and unsupported, she crossed the finish line at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin four months later, smashing the female record by nearly three weeks.
I shared this book a month ago during my interview with the author.
