George Thomas

‘RBR Radio’ Podcast Host, Distance Cycling Expert

George is long-time, accomplished distance cyclist and race organizer. He’s a former radio personality in Texas, Nevada and Oregon.

He also served as an independent public speaker delivering his inspirational story for the Epilepsy Foundation of America, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Cyberonics, Parke Davis and Abbot Labs. George spoke with patient groups, families, medical personnel and sales forces. He was encouraged to write a book about his experiences and, in 2002, “Going the Distance – the George Thomas Story” was released.

In 2012 George began Over the Top Productions, Ltd., through which he runs a podcast network featuring RBR Radio, Road Bike Action Radio, Mountain Bike Action Radio, 303Radio, Fischer Sports Network, Slopeside with Steven Nyman, Race Across America Radio, Snowbound, Over the Top Radio and the new Mackenzie Winslow’s Story Tellers Initiative podcast.

An avid cyclist and long distance bicycle racer, George also owns and directs the Deschutes River Valley Time Trial Stage Race, Race Across Oregon and The Natchez Trace 444. He was inducted into the Race Across America Hall of Fame in 2014.

    Hi George,
    It’s Ed Fleming.
    I’m going to be doing 4 man RAW in June at 70 yrs old. Would you be willing to talk with me about suggestions you might have about crew rotations, rider rotations – length of pulls etc. We’ve got it thought out but wanted to get your insight.
