Paul Smith

Product Review Crew

Paul Smith.2015 Jersey.WEBI started road riding in 2003 after I got a nice bonus payment at work and bought an aluminum Specialized Allez, which my son now rides. Previously, I’d only done mountain biking.

I was surprised how addictive being on the road became for me. I started commuting regularly on the bike, using it as invisible exercise around my family life and growing boys.

After a couple of years of solo riding, I found a welcoming group ride thatI still participate in. On the first few attempts at that ride, I buried myself to finish with the group; otherwise, I would be lost on rural roads, in oxygen debt.

My interest grew, and I got faster. I discovered the cycling scene around Chapel Hill in North Carolina, a mix of all kinds of riders and abilities, with something for everyone. I was surprised just how many people in the area ride bikes. I joined a local team whose motto is “pedaling for health,” aiming to get people onto bikes. Check us out at trianglevelo.org.

I’m still commuting a couple of times a week on the bike and ride around 6,000-7,000 miles per year.

I’ve been reviewing products for RoadBikeRider since 2012. We’re always open to suggestions for products to review. Just let us know.

    Hi Paul Smith,

I’m Robertson from Revoray — a performance-driven & professional sports eyewear brand with cycling sunglasses.
    Website: revoray.com | IG: @revoray_global

We value your editorial standards and touring-focus audience, so we’d like to proceed with a paid collaboration (and we’re happy to follow your rate card). To make this easy:

    Two collaboration tracks (your call):
    A) Sponsored review (paid, clearly labeled)

Deliverables (example): 800–1200 words, 3–5 original photos, permanent on-site placement, link policy per your guidelines.

What we provide: one test unit (Brisk Y-Series / NEX2 / Y7 small-fit), full spec sheet & image kit, factual checks only (no influence on opinions).

Timing & admin: we can sign your IO, pay via invoice (Net 7–15), and cover shipping & any duties (DDP).

    B) Editorial review (unpaid, fully independent)

Same test unit & assets; no positive coverage required.

Sample can be kept or returned — we will follow your policy.

Reader value & tracking (applies to either track):

Affiliate: 15% base, tiered and easy to upgrade; tracked via Refersion with a 45-day cookie; monthly payouts & dashboard access.

Reader offer: 21% OFF with exclusive code [BLOGNAME].

Reporting: we’ll set UTM + provide performance recap if useful.

Assets: spec sheet, lifestyle/pack shots, logos → [press kit link].

If this aligns, please share your rate card or choose Track A/B, and reply with model choice + shipping address. We’ll lock the slot, ship immediately, and handle invoicing on your terms.

    Best regards,
    Robertson | PR & Partnerships
