I have a Bob Jackson made with Reynolds 753 steel tubing. It is nearly 30 years old and was designed and built to my specs. I believe they’re still in business, though Bob himself died a while ago. John Burke, of Trek Cycles, told me he met Bob at the N.Y. bike show 40 years ago.
I ride my Jackson frequently and it is just as comfortable as my 2 carbon-framed machines, though several pounds heavier.

Not a fan of Greg’s politics but I treasure the photo I took of him, on my side of the peloton, rolling through Gettysburg, Pa., during the 1989 Tour de Trump. Still astounded by his TdF win over Fignon.

Strange that you included Gunnar, but somehow missed the “parent,” bespoke, bicycle brand from the company that makes Gunnars.

Also, since it seems you’re including bikes that were once distributed in the U.S., but aren’t anymore (Miyata, for example), I’ll throw in Atala (https://www.atala.it/). Very old company and still in the bike manufacturing business, just not in the U.S. anymore.

And, you’ve missed Georgena Terry (https://georgenaterry.com/), that specializes in bespoke bikes for women.

I am the original owner of Rich’s #50 bicycle frame built in 1983. It’s a great bike I still ride with pride. He’s still going strong after all these years–not sure what number he’s up to now. Beautiful workmanship and attention to the finest detail! Plus, Rich is a great guy I used to race with back in the 70’s. http://ganglcustomcycles.com/

Perhaps you are only including makers who are still on business? If so, say so? A lot of quality bikes, because they are so good, are very much around, crop up for sale etc, so surely should be included.
    For example:
Jack Taylor Cycles (I have 2, both ride as good as new though 35 years old.)
    Holdsworth Cycles
    Claud Butler
Hetchins (makers of the famous ‘curly’ rear stays )

I am not a bycicle enthusiast at all and know very little about them or there history but stumbled upon this post and I can’t believe out of a list of a-z bikes, plus amendments in the comments, that I would have a bike in my garage that everybody missed. I just picked it up at Goodwill for 13 bucks and knew I had to be able to flip this beauty for a decent profit. Maybe you guys can clue me in on the true value. It’s obviously rare since I find little to no info on it and it still eludes your list. It is a Pr’ A’ Zentra Folding Bike . All original, except the seat, in barely used and kept garaged condition. Has a Schwinn seat. The U shaped frame should allow for the addition of an electric motor without altering the bike at all.

I am looking for some help with info on a bike I was recently given as spares.
The frame is labelled as either ‘Classic Urban” or the other way around.
The other stickers say ‘Shimano 21 Speed STI, (on the rear triangle near the back brakes) and the final sticker says ‘LPS Lightweight Performance Series’.
The name ‘Classic’ is also the the usual manufacturer logo position in the crown / headset / forks area.
I have looked all over and I can not find any information on it.

My husband has a bike that was made of up of some of the top Italian, French manufacturers back in the fifties. He can’t remember the name of bike shop owner who put the bike together but the frame says Rochet Super Special, the gears are italian, the seat is english. The bike shop owner was a former Olympian cyclist trainer, and his name may have been Vizzosi or something similar. My question is, would this type of bike be valuable? Also, how would we best sell it.?

You are missing three of the finest tandem manufacturers in the world, including the largest.
Santana – the largest tandem maker in the world
Rodriguez – hand built tandems since 1973, plus hand built single bikes – located in Seattle.
Erickson – hand built custom tandems – also in Seattle.

Yes, I was trying to research J.Pinsello a brand owned by Jean Pinsello who recently closed his rather large bicycle store in an area of greater Paris , France . I was wondering who or if he learned his frame building skills from , perhaps, Bernard Carre . Jean is still living and enjoying his retirement ,I would guess. He raced for team LeJeune in the 70’s . My first J.Pinsello has a head badge which says J.Pinsello Constructeur . So I don”t think he simply contracted with another builder to build his frames he sold in his store , but not really sure.
I did notice an obscure but very significant builder missing from your list . Obscure because he, a 3rd generation master builder, was the first of the 3 generations to actually use his last name on the bikes later in his career. This is SANCINETO or Gianni Sancineto . Read the Utah Randoneur article which is quite eloquent on the subject .

I am trying to discover the year from my old road bike, around internet I really cant find any details about it.

It’s a Vision Carver (or Carver Vision? 😀 ) 3×9 Ultrega. I would put it in 20/15yo, but really can’t find much about it.

The brand also not listed here, unfortunately.

I just got a bike at an auction that is from the Arrow Cycle company. It has an Arrow metal badge and a sticker saying Olney, Illinois. Its been very hard to find info on this company and date the bike. It does have a serial number but I’m not getting any hits on that either. Mesinger seat & tires are Carlisle Zephyr-Flytes (with date codes from the 70’s).

Last known address of this company is 2845 W 19th st. Chicago, which after doing some research has been a hospital since 1905. Please reply & help me find some info on vintage Arrow cruiser bikes!

Bridgestone – San Leandro, CA. 1980s-early 2000s, I think. The Bridgestone RB-1 is still a classic roadbike. I gave mine to my son, and he still gets people flagging him down in an attempt to buy it.
