Now, I dispense with the plastic bags and pack one whole outfit in a mesh bag: shorts, jersey, bra, socks and sweat band. I can see what’s in there, so I can choose the outfit I want to wear that day, and at the end of the day the whole business goes right back in the bag for laundering, as is. The dirty clothes then go into a large plastic bag to keep them separate (and to reduce transfer of odor, one hopes!) until laundry day.
I generally take about 4 outfits for a cross-country tour, as most motels these days have laundry facilities, so no more than that is needed for even the longest tour (60+ days).
Tide Pods Are Ideal!
This one’s short and sweet. I think Tide Pods (or similar) were invented with roadies in mind. They’re perfect for taking on tour, packed in a snack or sandwich zip-type bag. They take up almost no room, they don’t spill powder or liquid in your duffel bag, and you don’t have to pay a dollar for those little boxes they rip you off for in the laundry facilities.
If you have an idea for a QT, fire away. We’re always looking for good info we can share with fellow roadies. We would love to hear from you with any suggestions you have. Contact us by clicking Quick Tips Ideas.
