Zealios Race Relief Quick Review

By Sheri Rosenbaum

Zealios Race Relief

As endurance athletes, we’ve all been there — after a long workout, some days your whole body aches. It’s times like these you wish it was possible to cover yourself from head to toe with a muscle relief product.

A while back, after a Zealios webinar, I received a tube of Zealios Race Relief to try out. With cycling season in full gear, I’ve had plenty of reasons to use it over the last few months. From soothing a sore knee to relieving shoulder pain, Race Relief provided the relief. Because it is made from all-natural ingredients, it is safe to use up to four times a day. At times I’d apply it pre and post workout, as well as before bed. From my experience it definitely helped reduce recovery time and relieved muscle soreness.

When first applied you smell the menthol, which then dissipates fairly rapidly. The gel went on cool, like applying ice, and without a greasy feeling. My skin absorbed the gel quickly and I could get dressed almost immediately after application.

Race Relief has 4 percent menthol and a blend of 12 natural herbal extracts that provide soothing and anti-inflammatory properties to help ease aches and pains. The 12 ingredients include: Arnica, St John’s Wort, Horse Chestnut, Yerba Mate, Ivy, Birch Leaf, Wormwood, Fennel, Liden Flower, Angelica, Irish Moss and Bladderwrack. There are no artificial dyes or added fragrances. Race Relief is free of NSAIDS, steroids, parabens and dyes, as well as vegan and cruelty free.

My friend Kathy attended the same Zealios webinar and also received samples of Race Relief. I asked her for some feedback, and here’s what she had to say.

“I’ve used it on a sore wrist from a “first of the season” mountain bike ride. Stiff wrist from possibly gripping handlebars too tight or arthritic conditions. I like the consistency and scent of Race Relief, and the product worked well. Took pain away and off my mind for quite a few hours. Did this for about 5 days and wrist does not give me problems and its weeks later. In addition, just this morning I put some on a bothersome and somewhat cramping calf muscle literally just minutes before a virtual training ride. Pain subsided and took my mind off the sore leg; completed virtual ride well! So pleased.”

A single 3oz tube costs $17.95 and three – 3oz tubes are $51.15.

I’ve been impressed with Zealios’ line of products and have previously reviewed their sunscreen and chamois cream.
