Extend Your Riding Season with Thermal Bib Tights
As the leaves fall from the trees, so do the temperatures. Staying comfortable in cooler weather helps to prolong the outdoor riding season. Velocio’s new women’s thermal utility bib tights do just that. The Thermo Roubaix Power fabric provides warmth without bulk and is fleece-backed, PFAS-Free DWR treated, breathable, and wicking.
To further add to comfort, the medium compression fabric reduces muscle fatigue, especially on a bumpy gravel ride, allowing you to ride longer. An integrated windproof panel throughout the seat area keeps you warm and dry from tire spray.
In the Fall, a mesh privacy panel is okay as it adds to the breathability. But I’d prefer a solid panel for colder winter riding to help retain heat.
Velocio’s Signature chamois, developed by Cytec, uses a dual-density pad with an anti-vibration super high-density layer for miles of comfortable riding. The bib straps are wide and comfortable, keeping the chamois in place. The company’s Signature bib short uses the same chamois and bib straps, and I gave it 4.5 stars back then, too.
Convenient Nature Break Design
Typically, I avoid wearing bibs in cold weather because it’s necessary to disrobe when nature calls. Velocio has incorporated their FlyFree design into these bib tights for added convenience, allowing for easier nature breaks. However, it’s worth noting that the lower back coverage is slightly less than optimal for winter riding ― no protection of the kidney area. Hopefully, future iterations of this design will address my concern.

Wide straps, FlyFree design, and integrated waterproof seat panel add to cold weather riding comfort
Added Features for Safety and Functionality
As the days get shorter, I find myself riding in low light or dark conditions. Velocio has prioritized safety by adding a large reflective panel to the side of the left that goes from the ankle to mid-calf, ensuring drivers see you.

Reflective panels increase visibility in low light conditions.
There are utility pockets on the outside of each thigh for added functionality. I was able to fit my iPhone 14 and nutrition securely. The items don’t move or shift around while pedaling, staying secure throughout the ride.

Safely store a cell phone and nutrition in convenient thigh utility pockets.
Velocio’s thermal utility bib tights are available in true-to-size fit, with extended sizing options (XXS – 3XL) to accommodate a broader range of body types. However, if you have a long inseam, it’s worth noting that these tights may run slightly shorter than expected. I have a 34” inseam and wish these tights were an inch longer.
Bottom Line
At $279, these thermal tights may be on the higher end of the price range, but their durability and performance make them a worthwhile investment for many seasons of riding to come.
Gear up with Velocio’s women’s Thermal Utility bib tights and enjoy comfortable and warm rides throughout the cooler months.
