A Taste of Fall and Supports a Great Cause
Chicago weather went from the 80s to the 50s in just seven days. Today’s ride was a perfect opportunity for me to try out Tailwind Nutrition’s latest seasonal, limited edition flavor ― Apple Cider Endurance Fuel. I prepared the mixture at home using an insulated bottle and added warm water. As I rode the trail admiring the leaves starting to change, I sipped from my bottle and thought this drink would be good, hot or cold. I truly enjoyed the apple cider flavor that warmed my insides; it wasn’t overly sweet and had a hint of cinnamon and cloves.
Like Tailwind’s other Endurance Fuel formulas, there are three key ingredients: electrolytes, water, and calories. The electrolytes include sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. According to the company, their mix maximizes water absorption more than drinking water alone. Finally, Tailwind uses dextrose and sucrose to help avoid digestive distress. I can attest to having no stomach issues on my test rides.
Each packet contains 100 calories, 310 mg of sodium, and 25 grams of carbs. Also, like the other Endurance Fuel flavors, the Apple Cider is gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, and dairy-free. Thus further helping to avoid any gut issues.
The samples were bundled and wrapped in a paper sleeve instead of plastic, aligning with the company’s sustainability efforts. This flavor is sold only in four-pack bundles for $10.

Supporting a Good Cause ― Bigger Than The Trail
Tailwind is donating 10% of the proceeds from this Apple Cider flavor to Bigger Than The Trail (BTTT), whose mission is to promote mental health awareness, foster a supportive community, and provide essential counseling services to those facing depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.
Bottom Line
As much as I hate to see summer go, it’s time to embrace fall weather. What better way to do that than with the flavor of apple cider? I found Tailwind’s latest limited-edition flavor tasty, and it provides the right amount of electrolytes, and 10% of the profits go to a good cause. It’s a win-win.
