I contacted Rick because I developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot as a result of heavy use of my Peloton bike. I’m a big runner, so my foot injury forced me to take a long break from running. Besides following the bike fit videos included with the bike, changing my shoes / seat and even getting a fit in the Peloton showroom, I couldn’t get the pain to go away.
I contacted Rick and within minutes, we started working on two main things:
1. Position of the cleats on my bike shoes
2. My fit on the bike

These two things are Rick’s bread and butter: it felt like I was talking to the friendly\experienced bike fitter in my local bike store – this is what Rick does. It turns out that my cleats were way off – a bit embarrassing because I’m an avid road cyclist but what was most surprising was my fit on the bike: all the videos and even the Peloton instructors in the showroom kept having me move my seat back (away from the handlebars).
After I sent a few short videos and Rick reviewed them, he told me that I was too far back; he had me move my seat all the way forward. He figured this out by reviewing the position of my knees over the pedals. I was skeptical at first because Rick’s advice was the exact opposite of the training videos and guidance I got from the Peloton showroom, but all it took was a few rides to convince me.
My foot pain got noticeably better after a few rides and as I sit here and write this review (several weeks later), my plantar fasciitis is completely gone! I am back to running again and cycling / road biking without any pain! Riding the Peloton bike is even easier now that I’m set up correctly on the bike – I’m able to finish most of my rides near the top of the leaderboard!

In hindsight I wish I had contacted Rick the day I got my bike and got set up correctly from the beginning. I am so grateful to ride / run without pain; it’s money well spent!
Thank you Rick!
