Bring Along a Backup Set of Contacts

Today’s QT comes to us from Premium Member Edward Fink, who writes:

Like many RBR readers, I wear soft contact lenses and cycling sunglasses when I ride.

On a recent day out here in Arizona, where it can be windy and dry, I was cycling and while simply turning my head slightly, the wind came through my sunglasses and popped the contact lens off my eye. It was irretrievably lost.

While I was able to ride home safely, you can imagine how uncomfortable I felt. Now, I pack an extra pair of contact lenses into my saddlebag for those unexpected moments. Needless to say, they take up trivial space and weight, and can be a true sight-saver.

If you have an idea for a QT, fire away. We’re always looking for good info we can share with fellow roadies. We would love to hear from you with any suggestions you have. Contact us by clicking Quick Tips Ideas.
