Versatile Comfort for Road, Trail, and Exploring
Fizik recently introduced the Tempo Beat to their line of cycling shoes, offering a versatile, casual road shoe that is perfect for exploring on or off the bike. With a stiffness index of 4, a wider toe box, and a hidden two-bolt cleat track, the Tempo Beat provides excellent comfort for walking or riding. The inside of the heel features silicon grippers to prevent your foot from slipping while pedaling or walking around town.
However, it’s important to note the sleek TPU tread offers grip on smooth surfaces but provides little traction on major gravel or climbing. These shoes are perfect for paved surfaces or crushed limestone trails. The engineered uppers are easy to clean but don’t offer much airflow except through the perforations on the tongue. I found my feet got a bit warm on hot summer days. After one very dusty trail ride, I quickly and easily cleaned the shoes with a damp rag. Good as new!
The Tempo Beat utilizes laces for closures, allowing for precise tension adjustment up and down the foot for optimal comfort. For added safety, there’s a small strap to tuck away the lace ends, ensuring they don’t get caught in the chainring.
