A Total Gym Workout with One Bench

As gyms close or limit capacity, many of us are looking for ways to maintain our fitness. Building up a home gym can cost well over $500 with free weights, barbells, kettlebells, a weight bench, etc. That’s if you can even find the equipment due to the 2020 shortage of athletic equipment. Also, if you have limited space, a dedicated home gym may not be an option. Maybe a home office or bedroom doubles as a workout room. So, what do you do?

The Zeno Gym Workout Bench ONE is the perfect answer. This modular system starts with a 35 lb bench, which is extremely sturdy and able to hold up to 1,000 pounds. It’s built to safely do weighted or unweighted step-ups…great for developing powerful climbing legs. Add bands of different resistance to perform over 100 exercises. The bands easily clip on and off the bench using a D-ring and carabiner design.

Enough equipment to do over 100 exercises

The bench is very versatile, with D-rings located on all sides of the bench. Using carabiners to hook the bands to the bench, you can do a variety of workouts. Switching from one routine to the next is fast, letting you minimize the time between exercises. For more resistance, multiple bands can be connected or shorten the bands by looping them under the bench. By shortening the bands, you can stand on the bench to do deadlifts or rows. See video.

Sturdy D-rings to quickly attach bands. Two located on each side of the bench and one at each end.

At 6ft tall and a 34” inseam, I found the 38” bench long enough for me to lay down comfortably and the 15” height perfect for step-ups.

Carrying straps located on both ends of the bench make it fairly easy to transport or store. When the weather is nice, take your workout outside. Carry it out to your driveway or patio for a change of pace.

Internal equipment storage keeps everything in one place.

Stay organized by using the accessory bag that’s included and store all the bands, handles, and straps inside the bench’s handy compartment. This internal storage has a Velcro-type closure to keep the flap in place.

If you’re not sure where to start, get workout ideas by downloading the Zeno Gym mobile app. Also, watch a few videos on their YouTube channel and website under the exercise tab as well as the Instructions tab. Zeno Gym’s started just this year, so it looks like they are beginning to build more content as time goes on. If you can do it with a free weight, you can do it with this bench and bands.

Zeno Gym app demos a variety of workouts and available for both Android and iOS.

Bottom Line

All in all, you can build strength with a full-body workout using the Zeno Gym bench and bands. The bench is extremely well made and sturdy, so build a little cardio by using it for step-ups. No need for free weights, barbells, and a weight bench. Just one compact system works to build each muscle group to keep you fit and stronger on the bike.

That’s a lot of money for the plastic bench. A good set of resistance tubes are $40-70.

I love mine! I saved a ton of money on free weights, and I got a huge discount at the holidays. Definitely a great option for apartment living, and it is not “just a box”. It’s super sturdy, and made really well!
