Bicycle saddle manufacturer Fizik has unveiled the new Antares saddle range, updated and designed for racing. The latest offerings focus on providing riders with greater comfort and versatility.
The new Antares range features a wider nose, a low-profile design, and a central cut-out. The design changes aim to eliminate pressure hotspots, improve rider comfort, and facilitate better movement on the saddle. The wider nose allows riders to adopt a variety of positions, while the low-profile design seeks to provide better saddle connection, which could potentially enhance power transfer and pedaling efficiency. The central cut-out is intended to facilitate blood flow, even in aerodynamic riding positions.
The Antares 00 model stands out as the lightest in the range. It uses a combination of a high-module, full-carbon shell, and rails for maximum stiffness. The saddle also includes injected EVA padding that’s designed to improve power transfer while saving weight.
Alex Locatelli, Product Manager at Fizik, shared his thoughts on the latest Antares saddles. “The new generation of Antares saddles highlight the constant innovation we see every day at fizik. We recognize the importance of maximising comfort and appreciate the varied needs of road riders no matter what their style of riding.”
The new design is available in 140mm and 150mm width options. The 00, R1, R3, and R5 models come with carbon, Kium, and S-alloy rail options to cater to different weight and stiffness requirements.
