Skratch Labs Introduces New Savory and Slightly Sweet Flavors

By Sheri Rosenbaum

If you are sick and tired of consuming those overly sweet energy bars on your rides, Skratch Labs has introduced a new line of savory or slightly sweet options. I had a chance to sample them at CABDA Midwest last month and they are definitely tasty.

At the Skratch booth they had bite size samples of all the bars. I found I had to reprogram my brain to not think sweet. The first one was a shock to my taste buds because they are made with 50% less sugar than traditional energy bars. I also found looking at the flavor before popping it in my mouth helped me to mentally prepare for a different tasting bar. Even though the flavors are different, they really work well together, and I enjoyed them.

At $2.65/bar or $29.50 for a 12 pack MSRP, these bars are in line with other energy products. They are non-GMO, gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. They are marked as “anytime” meaning for anytime you need a boost. Use them to fuel during an endurance event, a race or for a snack.

The slightly sweet flavors include:

  • Chocolate chips & almonds
  • Peanut butter & strawberries
  • Raspberries & lemon

The slightly savory or spicy flavors include:

  • Savory miso
  • Parmesan, sun dried tomatoes & black pepper

Each bar averages 200 calories and are moist, easy to chew and don’t sit in your stomach like a brick. For the complete story on these bars, checkout the Skratch Labs blog here.  The Skratch Labs web site also provides full nutritional information, allowing you to decide it’s right for you.
