Versatility, Safety, and Comfort
Known for their MTB gear, I’ve never tested a Fox Racing helmet until now. When I read the press release for their new Crossframe Pro helmet, which the company said was designed to be the most versatile helmet they offer, I knew this was the perfect time for a test ride.
The Crossframe Pro Helmet comes in various colors, including White, Olive Green, Black, Black Camo, Vintage White, and a striking Purple/Black limited edition, which I selected for testing. The aesthetic is sleek and appealing to a wide range of cyclists, from gravel to trail to MTB. For those who ride various terrains, it’s nice to invest in one helmet that covers several disciplines.
Comfort and Fit
One of the key features of the Crossframe Pro Helmet is its BOA Fit System, which is equipped with the FS1 dial and allows for one-handed micro-adjustability. This system makes achieving a snug and comfortable fit easy, which is crucial for safety and comfort.

The helmet weighs 330 grams for a size small and 370 grams for a medium, making it lightweight and comfortable for long rides without neck strain.
The addition of a removable, washable Ionic+ liner is a thoughtful touch. It’s anti-microbial and manages odor while wicking moisture away from the rider’s head, which is a helpful on hot days or during intense rides.
Safety Features
The Crossframe Pro Helmet is equipped with the Mips protection system, designed to reduce the rotational motion transferred to the brain in the event of an angled impact.
Additionally, the helmet features dual-density Varizorb EPS, which spreads the forces of impact across a wider area, thus offering improved protection. The FIDLOCK SNAP helmet buckle is another feature that ensures quick and secure fastening and release, which is very convenient when wearing gloves.
Ventilation
With 22 vents, the Crossframe Pro helmet provides excellent ventilation, further enhanced by the optimized venting system with channeled, in-molded EPS that promotes efficient cooling. Even on warmer days, the airflow through these vents kept my head cool and comfortable during testing.

Additional Features
Fox Racing has included several thoughtful features to enhance the rider’s experience. The strap divider adjustment allows easy repositioning of the chinstrap angle, improving comfort. The TPU vent inserts provide a secure storage location for your sunglasses when they’re not in use — a small but very useful detail for mountain bikers and gravel cyclists alike.

Bottom Line
The Fox Racing Crossframe Pro Helmet checks all the boxes for what most cyclists need regarding safety, comfort, and convenience. The inclusion of the Mips system and dual-density EPS enhances its safety credentials, while the BOA Fit System and excellent ventilation make it comfortable to wear on long rides. For $219.95, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a weekend warrior, the Crossframe Pro Helmet offers the protection, comfort, and versatility to tackle any trail or gravel road.
