Organize Your Gear Like Never Before
I’m sure we’ve all been there. In a hurry to leave for a ride, you can’t find a matching set of gloves, that headband to keep your ears warm, nutrition to stuff in a jersey pocket, or even your helmet.
The bike bag I have used for years is this huge stuff bag with two outside pockets. It might as well be the black hole of bike gear. A few years back, I even bought clear plastic zipper bags to make some semblance of order. But I still had to search for the right bag. What to do?
The team at Austin, Texas-based Parc company had similar issues. They created The Bag and launched it on Kickstarter in April of 2021, raising over 310% of their goal to produce the first round of bags. This is the only product they currently offer, but they are working on other cycling items.
The Bag is designed to organize your cycling gear at home, hanging in the garage or from your car’s headrest. There are so many features to The Bag that the folks at Parc created a video and manual. I’m glad they did because I learned how to hang and secure The Bag to the car headrest.
The Headrest Hood allows you to hang The Bag on the back of the driver or passenger car seat. Then, use an additional strap to secure the bottom of The Bag, giving you usable leg and floor space. Or, hang it from the vehicle’s garment hook, providing more room to fit a bike in the back seat.
The Bag boasts 15 pockets of varying sizes and materials, allowing plenty of storage space for all your gear. There are dedicated compartments for socks, gloves, a computer, and a multi-tool. Use the mesh pockets for quick access to items, while the elastic loops are great for holding small accessories like a towel or a massage stick.
The upper large pocket of The Bag is lined with silver water-resistant material, keeping wet and dirty clothes separate. All zipper pulls have a large ring, making it easy to open and close even when wearing gloves.
When traveling or participating in an event, The Bag has adjustable and comfortable backpack straps, making it easy to use on the go to stay organized. While not recommended for commuters, there’s reflective printing and a loop for a rear light to keep you visible if you ride or walk from your car to the race staging area.
Bottom Line
The Bag from Parc is an excellent option for cyclists who value organization and convenience. With ample storage space, versatile hanging options, and thoughtful design features, this bag will change how you store and transport your cycling gear. Priced at $164.97, it can seem like a splurge, but if you need a storage solution, the many benefits make it worth the investment. The Bag will let you say goodbye to the days of searching for misplaced items before a ride or struggling to fit everything into one bag.

As a less expensive option, riders should check out the softball traveller backpack by Franklin. These bags have multiple sections and pockets will suited for cycling. There are pockets for shoes, helmet, clothes, tools, nutrition, etc. The outside pockets designed for baseball bats are the perfect size to hold water bottles. I found a sturdy well-built softball backpack for $49.99 and have been using it for the last two years.
