Online cycling app Zwift, in collaboration with Wahoo Fitness, a well known manufacturer in fitness technology for endurance athletes, has announced the release of the Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One. This new product is a significant development in the realm of virtual cycling.
The Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One offers compatibility with a wide range of bikes, supporting 8- to 12-speed models. This compatibility is facilitated by the pre-installed Zwift Cog and the inclusion of Virtual Shifting through the Zwift Click. This feature of virtual shifting allows users to adapt almost any compatible bike to engage with the virtual landscapes and challenges offered by Zwift. The system aims to enhance the rider’s experience by realistically simulating gradient changes and allowing interaction with Zwift’s global online community.
The product is designed for immediate use straight out of the box, simplifying the setup process for users. The Zwift Click and Cog components enable silent gear changes and offer 24 virtual gears, designed to help cyclists navigate and conquer various terrains within the Zwift virtual environment.
The Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One is now available for purchase, priced at $599. This price includes a one-year membership to Zwift. The product is available through the official websites of Zwift and Wahoo Fitness.
In addition to the Wahoo KICKR CORE Zwift One, Wahoo Fitness also offers the Wahoo KICKR CORE, compatible with 8/9/10/11/12 speed cassettes. This model is similarly bundled with a one-year Zwift subscription and is available through the same sales channels.
For existing Wahoo KICKR CORE trainer owners, an upgrade option will be available from February 7th. This upgrade, named Zwift Play, enables virtual shifting and also introduces handlebar-mounted controllers for an immersive gameplay experience, including steering and braking controls. The Zwift Play upgrade can be purchased for $99 via zwift.com.
