Italian bicycle brand Officine Mattio announced the release of its new model, the OM 1 RT, on May 15, 2023. The new model is designed with competitive cyclists in mind, aiming for speed, responsiveness, and stability.
The OM 1 RT is tailored to cater to competitive road cyclists looking for a high end bike. CEO Giovanni Monge Roffarello stated that the bike aims to be fast and responsive while also ensuring rider safety. “We wanted to concentrate all of this on a bike with unparalleled comfort,” Roffarello said.
The bicycle has received approval for UCI races, emphasizing its competitive intent. The design features a monocoque frame and a fork specially designed to enhance the riding experience and favor aerodynamic performance.

The new model incorporates T1100 fiber, impregnated with a special resin that the company claims provides rigidity and lightness. The OM 1 RT weighs approximately 890 grams (size M, unpainted), and the whole frame kit is roughly 15% lighter than the company’s OM 1 S model.
The OM 1 RT is equipped with an integrated carbon fiber handlebar, designed and manufactured by Officine Mattio. Like all the company’s bikes, the painting process is carried out by hand in the company’s own painting department.
