Today’s QT comes to us from Premium Member Richard Gluck, who writes:
If you have a frame pump where the hose is stored internally like it is in my Lezyne Pressure Drive, grease the threads of the hose end that screws into the pump body when the hose is stored.
I learned the hard way the importance of doing this. I got a flat one rainy day this summer. Neither I nor my riding companions could get the hose out of my pump’s body.
Road grit, water, etc., had combined to lock the hose in place. Luckily, another rider had a mini pump that got me back on the road. Had I been out solo, it would have been a long walk to relief.
If you have an idea for a QT, fire away. We’re always looking for good info we can share with fellow roadies. We would love to hear from you with any suggestions you have. Contact us by clicking Quick Tips Ideas.
