COACH FRED: When I started racing, I used the following formula, handed down by riders from half a century ago:
- pint of rubbing alcohol
- 1 pint of witch hazel
- 3 ounces of oil of wintergreen
- 3 ounces of olive oil
You can get the ingredients at a pharmacy. It worked fine, but I got lazy! Now I use commercial products such as those from SportsBalm.
