Campagnolo Unveils Advanced Bora Ultra WTO and Bora WTO Wheelsets

news

Campagnolo has expanded its wheelset range with the introduction of the Bora Ultra WTO and Bora WTO. These new models are part of Campagnolo’s long-standing Bora wheel series and come with several technical updates.

The Bora Ultra WTO and Bora WTO both feature the G3 spoke pattern characteristic of Campagnolo designs, aimed at efficient energy transfer. Notably, they include a 23mm internal rim width, which is designed to improve ground contact, potentially impacting aerodynamics and control.

In the Bora Ultra WTO model, the use of Ceramic Ultimate Level Technology (CULT) bearings is a key feature, along with a rear hub made from carbon fiber, matching the rim material. This choice of materials and technology is indicative of the brand’s approach to wheel design.

The aerodynamic aspect of these wheels has been a focus in their development. The integration of the rim and tire features a drop-shaped profile, reportedly leading to a 13% reduction in aerodynamics compared to previous models, and an improved performance in 15-degree side winds.

Weight reduction is another significant aspect of these new wheelsets. This has been achieved through the use of Handmade Ultra-Light Carbon (HULC) in the rim construction, reducing the rim weight by up to 135 grams. The Ultra WTO rims weigh in at 420 grams per set, and the WTO rims at 550 grams per set.

Additionally, the Bora WTO series incorporates Aero Mo-Mag technology, featuring internal spoke nipples, which could contribute to improved aerodynamics.

These new additions to the Campagnolo Bora series reflect the brand’s continued focus on wheelset technology, catering to the needs of both professional and serious amateur cyclists.
