A Terrific Way to Showcase Your Beloved Bicycles 

Product Specifications

The Saris Hottie 2 bike stand is the perfect solution for dressing up storage of your bicycles within your home. The wood face of the stand contains geometric cut outs that create interesting light patterns that are aesthetically pleasing and complement the bicycle frame geometry. The optional accessories shelf that comes with the stand can be placed in three positions on the stand and can be used to hold the bike(s) component charging systems, sports glasses, and other small items between rides.

Product Review

The first time I saw this bicycle stand I fell in love with it — it screamed, “I LOVE MY BICYCLES!” If you love bicycles, this is the stand for you. The design of the Hottie 2 is elegant and provides a wonderful solution to showcasing your favorite bicycles inside your home.

Shipping and Assembly

The Hottie 2 is shipped in a surprisingly compact, well-padded box (Figure 1) and the instructions to assemble the stand are very easy to follow (Figure 2). An Allen wrench is provided in the box, but you will need an adjustable wrench (3/8″ or 9.5 mm socket wrench) to tighten the acorn cap nuts that secure the horizontal metal arms that support the bicycle(s) (top tube) to the Hottie 2’s main frame.

Types Of Bikes Compatible With The Hottie 2 And Placement of the Bike Support Arms on the Stand

The Hottie 2 can hold different types of bikes (e.g. road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes) with different bike frame geometries as long as the bike does not weigh more than 35 lbs. To hang two similar or different bikes on the bike stand so that there is space between the bikes, the horizontal metal arms that support the bicycles can be attached to the stand using either of the two bolt positions for the top bike and one of three bolt positions for the bottom bike (Figure 3).

 If you want to hang a bike with a large sloping top tube so that the wheels of the bike are parallel to the floor, we found that it is possible to attach the horizontal metal arms that support the bike to the stand so that the arm supporting the top tube nearest the handlebars is positioned in the pair of bolt holes higher than the bolt holes used to attach the horizontal metal arm supporting the top tube nearest the saddle (Figure 4). Use of the staggered arm configuration may require altering the support rubber pads to securely fasten the bike to the arms (see recommended improvements).

We staggered the metal arms to support our Trek road bike that we hung above a Giant TCR bike (Figure 5). While placement of the arms did reduce the angle of the Trek bike on the stand it did not eliminate it. The Giant TCR with a reduced top tube angle does hang a bit more parallel to the floor.

In addition to assembled bicycles, the Hottie 2 also makes a great stand for showcasing bike frames (Figure 6).

Overall, the Hottie 2 bike stand is a great solution for showcasing your favorite bikes in any room in your home (Figure 7). The design of this stand is superb and fits every décor. In fact, the Hottie 2 matches the wood in our new living room floor!

The following would improve the versatility of the stand: 

  • Additional bolt holes in the Hottie 2 metal frame for positioning of the bike support arms for both bikes.
  • Include a white stand tether instead of the black wall tether (since most homes have white walls vs black walls).
  • Add optional rubber strap to clamp bike frames to support arms that have a large angle sloping top tube.

 We highly recommend this bike stand for its functionality and aesthetics.
