Different Hemisphere, Same ‘Divide’ Between Cyclists and Drivers

By John Marsh, Editor & Publisher

New Zealand Premium Member Andrew Finnigan sent us a message recently that makes it clear that the driver-cyclist divide extends to all corners of the globe. Here’s what he wrote:

“Gidday. If you have not seen this story [about a cyclist fined for “impeding” traffic] it may interest you. New Zealand roads are full of hesitant drivers (over-cautious?) and, sadly, there is still a divide in the relationship between cyclists and drivers. Love your work, John, keep it up!”

Things aren’t all negative for Kiwi cyclists, though. Andrew also sent this article about new cycleways being built across the country.

Thanks, Andrew!

Video: Unicycle Amazement

We’ve all seen some of the mind-boggling, daring bike-handling skills on display in videos of two-wheeled riders (hopping from rock to rock, riding over the top of bridges, etc.). It’s otherworldly, to be sure.

But check out this video of what can be done on just one wheel! https://vimeo.com/132724947
