As you may guess from the title, this fun and easy-to-read eBooklet is an entertaining introduction to the Tour de France. Its 16 pages are packed with interesting facts and trivia about cycling's most famous race.

If you're new to cycling or haven't quite figured out what the Tour is all about, this handy guide has the answers. It's written by Janet Buckwalter, an avid cyclist, freelance author and Red Cross worker who is donating $1 from every sale to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer survivors.

"This book was written for love, not money," explains Janet. "A precious friend was dying of cancer at age 29. I had to do something to help and the little book was born."

So how many cheeseburgers does it take win the Tour de France? You'll find the answer on page 2.

In this excerpt from page 9, Janet tells why the most famous jersey in cycling is yellow.

EXCERPT: Yellow Jersey

The Tour de France yellow jersey is the most sought-after prize in cycling. Since 1919 it has proclaimed the winner as the strongest rider in the world of organized bicycle racing. Each day's leader of the TDF gets to wear the yellow jersey in that stage.

Until 1983 the yellow jersey carried the "HD" initials of TDF founder, Henri Desgrange. Twenty years later race organizers decided to put those initials back on the shoulder of the jersey as a way to honor Henri.

Legend says in the early years journalists couldn’t pick out the leader of the Tour because all riders were covered with dirt and grime, so they acquired a yellow jersey to help identify him. History also tells us that the L’Auto, Henri's newspaper, was printed on yellow paper.
