Question:

How do I access my RBR account?

Answer:

To access your account, simply click the Manage Your Account tab at the top of any page and log in using your Username and Password.

If you are a Premium Member you can select the Premium Site Login.


Question:

How do I read PDFs of the Newsletter or RBR eArticles/eBooks on my iPhone or iPad?

Answer:

While logged into your RBR account using the Safari browser on your iPad or iPhone, click the Downloads tab in your account to see all of your available downloads. Click the title you wish to open. It will open as a PDF on your device. Then, simply touch the top of the eArticle, eBook or Newsletter PDF, and select the "Open in iBooks" tab (or select the other tab, "Open in..." to open the PDF in Kindle, Adobe Reader, etc.).

If you select "Open in iBooks" you'll be able to read the PDF in the iBooks app. And any PDFs that you open in iBooks will now be stored in the iBooks app on your device for future use.


Question:

What do I do with the GIFT CERTIFICATE I purchased for a friend?

Answer:

If you purchased a GIFT CERTIFICATE, your Gift Certificate is stored as a PDF file in your customer account on the website for downloading. (YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A HARD COPY; you purchased an electronic gift certificate.)
 
IMPORTANT: You must download the Gift Certificate, save it to your computer hard drive, and email it to the recipient (along with the Order #, which you will find in the Order Receipt email we sent to you. It is at the bottom of the Receipt email, listed under Order Summary). The recipient of your Gift Certificate MUST have BOTH the PDF file Gift Certificate AND the Order # in order to redeem the Gift Certificate.

 

Question:

On my Mac, I can view but cannot save my Downloads. Why not?

Answer:

What you’re referring to is most likely an issue having to do with how your Mac is set up, especially the browser settings. Most Mac users use the Browser Add-on option that can be installed with most popular browsers to read Adobe PDF files. (These don’t work well with PDF files on a Mac.)  Instead, you should use the Mac PDF reader, ‘PREVIEW’, that is standard on the Mac OS.

To overcome issues associated with browser Add-on scripts, disable the Adobe Reader Browser Add-on in the settings section of the browser you are using. There are various versions of Firefox and the Mac OS. So if you are unfamiliar with updating your browser or Mac OS settings, please refer to either www.mozilla.org (FireFox) or https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa (Apple’s discussion forums).


Question:

How do I download my eBook or eArticle purchases to my computer?

Answer:

To access and download your purchases, simply click the Manage Your Account tab at the top of any page, log in, and click on the Downloads tab (in the middle of the screen, directly below the main navigation).

Then click on the eArticle or eBook you wish to download to your computer. It will open as a PDF file. Simply save this file to your hard drive, from which you can access and print the article anytime you want.

How do I download my eBook or eArticle purchases to a Kindle?

Answer:

How do I receive a Text-only version of the RBR Newsletter?

Answer:

Please send us a message through the Contact Us link at the top of the page, or the Support Ticket link in the right-hand margin, and we will gladly set you up to receive the text-only version.

Every issue is sent out in both HTML and Text formats.


Question:

I didn't receive my email copy of the RBR Newsletter this week. What do I need to do?

Answer:

Please also make sure that you have “white-listed”  or “safe-listed” our address, RBRPublishing@roadbikerider.com, in your email program (Outlook, or whichever one you use). That should help prevent our emails from hitting your junk folder. And, after Thursday, if you don’t receive it, check your spam folder to ensure that the newsletter didn’t get trapped in there.

You may simply need to resubscribe by clicking the Subscribe to RBR link in the upper right corner of any page.


Question:

I don't see my Premium Member discount being applied to my purchases. What do I need to do?

Answer:

When you log in as a Premium Member, the only prices you see are the prices that have automatically been discounted 15%. For example, eArticles will display at a price of $4.24 for Premium Members (vs. $4.99 for non-Premium customers).

What might be confusing you is that you might not have logged out before going back to the site to try to see the regular price. To log out as a Premium user, click log out in the right-hand margin. Then you'll see all the regular (non-Premium) prices of items in the eBookstore.


Question:

I purchased 2 eArticles/eBooks from RBR. However, the PDFs will not download into my computer.

Answer:

The files do not download automatically. To access and download your eArticles, simply click the Manage Your Account tab at the top of any page, log in, and click on the Downloads tab (in the middle of the screen, directly below the main navigation).

Then click on the eArticle you wish to download to your computer. It will open as a PDF file. Simply save this file to your hard drive, from which you can access and print the article anytime you want.

Question:

Where did this strange username come from? What can I do about it?

Answer:

During our transition to the new website, some existing Usernames and passwords were changed by default because duplicate email addresses and user names existed for some individuals.  In such cases, the system automatically generated new ones -- as it does when you do not choose a Username when setting up a new account.

In order to change the system-generated Username, simply login with the system-generated Username and Password.

Once you are logged in, you will see the Account Management menu.  There, you can change your Username and Password by selecting the “Edit My Profile” tab. Just write in the Username and Password you prefer, then click Save at the bottom of the page.


Question:

How many times can I download an eBook or eArticle?

Answer:

You may download any eBook and eArticle you have purchased 5 times. There is a counter in your Downloads folder that records each download.


Question:

What options do I have in Manage Your Account?

Answer:

Once you are logged into you RBR account, you can:

  • View your account to see Premium Membership Expiration, etc.
  • Edit my Profile to change your password
  • Click Downloads to access all of the eBooks and eArticles you’ve purchased
  • If you’re a Premium Member, click Free eBooks to access the 3 free bonus books that come with your membership
  • Click Orders to view your purchase history
  • Click Renew Membership to renew your Premium Membership

Question:

Where are my Free Books?

Answer:

When you sign up for a Premium Membership, you receive 3 bonus eBooks. They can be accessed in Manage Your Account. To access and download your free eBooks, simply click the Manage Your Account tab at the top of any page, log in, and click on the Free eBooks tab.
