Feedback from roadies using RBR's exclusive Power to the Pedals program:

  • "Fred Matheny's 12-week power training program is great. I've just finished week 4 and I've already noticed a difference. I'm on the trainer, which works perfectly given the winter weather." ― Jud H.

  • "I'm on my 5th week of Power to the Pedals. It's kicking my butt, and it's probably the most useful time I've ever spent on a trainer." ― Parker B.

  • "I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to increase their power. I am heading into week 9, and when the weather is OK for riding outside, I notice a difference already in my pedal stroke and an improvement on hills. My stroke is a lot more circular and less squares. The program works!" ― Glen S.

  • "I finally graduated! Finished my 12th week on Saturday morning. First time I’ve enjoyed a purchased workout routine so much that I made it a goal to finish. I can tell you that my pedal stroke is smoother than it’s ever been and I have much more power all the way around. Had my first outdoor ride yesterday and I can feel the difference." ― Rick B.

  • "I followed the program to the letter and performed each exercise at an intensity I could endure. I have now been able to ride with the club on 3 occasions and I have realized a marked improvement in my power output. I am climbing much better, and I can pass some of the other riders on the hills without blowing up. The $3.99 I spent for the Power to the Pedals program has benefitted me more than an other cycling accessory that I have ever purchased." ― Dennis H.

  • "I ordered Power to the Pedals the first day it was announced on RBR and have since finished the 12-week program. Because I do the workouts on a trainer that measures power, it's been fun to see my power increase over time.

"At the end, I could do two reps of 20 minutes at the same power level that was hard for me to hold for 5 minutes at the start. Also, since the weather is beautiful now, I've been able to gauge my performance on the road. My time up a local hill is faster than I've ever measured it.

"My wife is doing the program now, and her power levels are also progressing faster than I would have ever imagined. Thanks for your help." ― Bob in Las Vegas

  • "I started the program in January on an indoor trainer. Now that I've been on the road for 6 weeks, the benefits are really paying off. I'm a 62-year-old randonneur, 6-foot-1 and 185 lbs., so climbing is not my forte.

"I ride with a club 3 times a week that has several racers who keep the tempo up. This year, I'm not dropped on the rollers or hills, not forced to hang on at the back of the pack, and I'm there for the sprints to the road signs.

"I had a great compliment from one of the racers who has noticed the improvement: What the hell did you do in the winter?
Power to the Pedals did it. The program works both physically and mentally. I'll be doing it again next winter for sure and look forward to even more improvements."Glen

  • "I have to agree with everything mentioned about this program. It produces huge paybacks. I used it last winter, with the results being back-to-back wins, along with hanging on training rides with Canadian pro Ryder Hesjedal through his base building on Maui. Every little bit helps once you're past 50. Power to the Pedals not only lets me hang with the youngsters, but if I'm wise and crafty I'll whoop em on a good day!" ― Scott B.

  • "It has been my goal to have a better time every year in a local triathlon from the time I turned 50 till I reach 60. I'm now 56 and Power to the Pedals kept me on pace this year. My improved performance on the bike portion made up for my swim and run times. I know your power program was responsible. Thanks again." ― B.J.L.

  • "I completed the 12-week Power to the Pedals training program last week. Before I started, I took a benchmark performance data point as follows:

"Utilizing a TACX Fortius virtual reality trainer, I rode a 10-mile time trial route from the Cape Argus Tour 'Real Life Video' that is available from TACX. It is a relatively flat ride with some long/rolling hills with grades of 1-4%. The Fortius trainer measures and records power, heart rate, cadence, etc.

    "These are my initial results:

Elapsed Time: 28 min, 48 sec

    Average Power: 223 watts

    Peak Power: 365 watts

"Once I had that data point, I started working on your 12-week power program. After completing it I re-rode the same 10-mile TT route on the trainer and noted the new results:

Elapsed Time: 26 min, 55 sec

    Average Power: 264 watts

    Peak Power: 410 watts

"So, after the program (combined with a general improvement in fitness as spring progressed) I was able to:

cut 1 min, 52 sec off my total time

increase average power output by 18.4%

increase peak power output by 12.3%

"Power to the Pedals is an excellent training program [especially] for the long winter months when opportunities for riding outdoors are restricted. I highly recommend it to all my cycling friends. Many thanks!" ― Peter L., JSF Propulsion Integration, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, Fort Worth, Texas
